TSA screened 34,685,378 passengers nationwide over the Christmas and New Year 2023 travel period (Wed, Dec 20, 2023 – Tue, Jan 2, 2024), up 14.8% from 30,205,987 over the same period a year earlier. The busiest day was Friday, December 22, with 2,775,193 screenings.

The busiest airports by departing passengers screened were John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK, about 1.4 million), Orlando International Airport (MCO, about 1.2 million) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD, about 1.1 million). Among states, Florida led with about 4.8 million.
