## International arrivals, year over year

International arrivals processed by CBP at LAS were +12.8% year over year in Nov 1-5, 2026 (non-US citizens +11.6%), against the same weekdays a year earlier.

## Air travel vs Las Vegas visitors

Air travel and visitors have moved apart since 2025. In September 2026, LVCVA counted +0.2% visitors year over year while Harry Reid passengers changed -8.5%. Many visitors drive, and TSA screenings also count residents leaving town, so from mid-2023 the TSA reading alone correlated only 0.06 with visitor volume (against 0.89 with the airport's own count).

## How the nowcast is measured

Harry Reid International Airport counts every passenger who gets on or off a plane at LAS, including people changing planes. TSA counts the people who start a trip there. Each month's nowcast takes the year-over-year change in average daily TSA screenings at LAS and adds the gap between the airport's reported change and TSA's over the three latest months the airport has reported, then applies it to the airport's count a year earlier. The month so far compares the days to date with the same weekdays a year earlier. The backtest uses only data that was available at the time.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why is the nowcast available before Harry Reid's report?

TSA's checkpoint counts come out within days; the airport publishes its monthly passenger report about four weeks after the month ends.

### Why did Las Vegas air traffic fall in 2026?

Biggest changes in September 2026: Spirit -367,625 passengers (-100.0%); Southwest -70,671 passengers (-4.0%); JetBlue +10,237 passengers (+13.1%); Frontier +118,232 passengers (+39.5%). Spirit Airlines stopped flying to Las Vegas in 2026.
