How to credit Passenger Index
Newsrooms, analysts and writers are welcome to use our figures, charts and maps. Credit them as "Source: Passenger Index (passengerindex.com)".
Attributions
- Print, web and TV: Source: Passenger Index (passengerindex.com)
- Radio and podcasts: "according to Passenger Index" (say "Passenger Index dot com" where you give a web address)
- Social posts: Source: Passenger Index (passengerindex.com)
- Additional note for web references: please include a link to the specific Passenger Index page you used (for example the airport's own page, under passengerindex.com/web/airports/) along with the credit in the published story whenever our figures, charts or maps are used.
- Charts, maps and screenshots: keep the Passenger Index logo and source line on the image; please don't crop them out.
An on-screen credit looks like this:
Describing the figures
- TSA figures count travelers screened at TSA checkpoints: departing passengers, not all passengers using the airport. Connecting passengers who stay airside are not counted.
- CBP figures count international arrivals processed by CBP at the airport, with US citizens and visitors counted separately.
- Give the period: "in the week ending...", "in September", "over the last 12 months".
- Rounding is fine. Please don't present the figures as TSA's or CBP's own, or suggest that they or we endorse your story.
Definitions and caveats are on the Methodology page.
Free figures
The summary figures on our public pages (the airport pages, Methodology and national charts) are licensed under CC BY 4.0: use them with the credit above, no permission needed. Figures we credit to another organisation (for example LVCVA on the Las Vegas pages) belong to them.
News use is free
News organisations may publish our figures on air and online at no charge, including the subscriber figures their reporters see in Pro, as long as every use carries the attribution above. There is no licence fee.
