Our figures are compiled from public US government data: TSA checkpoint throughput (TSA FOIA reading room and tsa.gov) and CBP passengers processed (CBP Airport Wait Times). These sources can be published late, have gaps, be revised, or contain errors. Our own processing, including the handling of missing and incomplete days described on the Methodology page, can also contain errors. Figures may change when sources are revised or when we correct a mistake. We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, about the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any figure.
Year-over-year changes, daily averages, adjustments for incomplete days and any forward-looking commentary involve choices and assumptions. Past travel patterns do not guarantee future ones.
Passenger Index is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the Transportation Security Administration, US Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Homeland Security or any other government agency, or by any airport or airline. Airport and airline names are used only to identify the data.
